Background
After being involved in productions and the rockeistedford challenge, I completed year 12 in 2007 and started at Swinburne the proceeding year. Since the commencement of my studies I have worked on shows such as; ‘The costumers manuscript’ and ‘Gorkies lower depths’. I have now begun work at Williamstown Musical Theatre Company designing costumes for ‘Into the woods’ and ‘Eurobeat’.
Inspiration
My female costume ‘Eliza’ is my interpretation of the iconic gown worn by Audrey Hepburn in “My Fair Lady”. The gown is strongly influenced by the 1930s and is aimed to show the glamour and elegance of the era. ‘Toy Solider’ is my male piece and is influenced by David Hackneys work in costume and is aimed to give the illusion that a picture has come to life.
Future aspirations
I would like to stay within the costume industry working in a designed based environment. I hope to work in Australia and believe that my work will take me around the world experiencing many different styles.
