Background
Fresh out of high school I entered this course (diploma of costume for performance) because of love for sewing. I was always interested in the arts, design and textile classes throughout high school and at the end of year 12, when I was deciding what to do at uni,  the variety and creativity this course offered led me to pursue costume.
Inspiration
For my male costume I found 18th century costumes were very inspiring, this lead me to deciding that my male character, a pirate, would date back to the 18th century. I have always found other cultures interesting and inspiring, this is reflected in my female design, a traditional 19th century Indian woman.
Future aspirations
I one day would love to work in a costume department for film, theatre or television projects. I also hope to continue studying and one day graduate and work as sewing teacher.
