Background
I have been dancing since the age of three; I now perform and teach several different dance styles. My original goal was to get into fashion designing, but since enrolling in this course have had a carer change and now love the costume world.
Inspirations
The inspiration for my female costume came from the dance world and the idea of flirtatious movements and showing off the female figure. My male costume represents army uniforms in particular the Crimean War. I love the regimented designs and contrast between shapes and textures in these uniforms. For both my male and female costume I have drawn inspiration from the Victorian period’s silhouettes.
Future aspirations
I would love to own a small business for dance costumes as well as work as a dance teacher. To help me achieve these goals I am looking to study as a dance teacher next year.
