Background
I have always had in an interest in the arts; throughout high school I studied drama and textiles. Where a combination of the both (drama and textiles), my interest in costume design developed. I particularly enjoy the construction and assembly part of the design process and seeing the transformation of the original sketch on paper to the three dimensional costume in front of you.
Inspirations
The main inspirations for my male and female costumes are creatures under the sea, in particular Poseidon the sea god and mythical creatures like mermaids.  Another inspiration for my costumes are wearable art pieces, and a particular technique used in many of these pieces, machine embroidery. For my final pieces I will be experimenting with different types of machine embroidery and fabric manipulation, such as fabric origami.
Future aspirations
I am not really sure of wear this carer will take me, my dream job is to one day design costumes for the circus, until then I am really enjoying being involved in the costume industry.
